Anambra state commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Sule Momodu, has announced the state government’s offer of 500,000 Naira to anyone who will come forward with information that will lead to the disclosure of a secret illicit drug factory distributing Methamphetamine in the state.

In a press conference, the commander recalled the discovery of such factory in Nanka community in Orumba North local government area of the state in 2012 and since then, shipment and circulation of the illicit drug have been noticed but the source is yet to be traced.

Mr Momodu narrated how the National Headquarters of the NDLEA intercepted a parcel containing Methamphetamine about being exported out of the country and it was traced to the state capital of Awka in Anambra state.

He, however, said the general public should look out for any deserted buildings that are locked up in the day time but in use at night, strong offensive smell consistently perceived in an area and withering of leaves where unusual by–products of a chemical is disposed. He noted that any information related to these signs would the police identify such clandestine factory.

He assured members of the public of their safety and keeping of their identity secret, should anyone be afraid to come up with such information.
