The Kwara State Police Command says its officers on Sunday rescued an Ilorin Magistrate, Oladapo Jumoke Bamigboye, who was reportedly kidnapped in her farm located at Ayegun Village via Eyenkorin, Ilorin same day.

The police said it arrested four suspects who carried out the kidnap; Abubakar Ibrahim, Mamud Ibrahim, Muhamed Kiri who are all males, and one female suspect named Abibatu Jimoh, who was discovered to be the supplier of Gari and other food items with which the victims were fed while under their captivity.

According to a statement by Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the Commissioner on receiving information about the kidnap immediately dispatched a team of Anti-Kidnapping unit assisted by vigilantes and local hunters to the scene to comb and search for possible rescue of the victim.

He said that the victim was eventually geo-located to have been hidden in the forest between the Eyenkorin/Afon/ Ogbomoso axis which consequently culminated in the release of the victim and recovery of her vehicle.

SP Ajayi said the victim has been reunited with her family after undergoing a medical examination to ascertain the condition of her health.

He added that the CP empathize with the victim and her family over the unpleasant and traumatic experience during her period with the abductors while assuring that the police would not relent in an attempt to possibly eradicate crimes and criminality in the State.

The CP was said to have advised the people of Kwara State to be vigilant and conscious of happenings around them at all times and to monitor the activities of strange faces patronizing them, especially those in the business of selling stable and quick/easy-to-consume meals to avoid innocently feeding victims of abductions in their area.

He also confirmed that the suspects arrested in the matter would be charged to court as soon as the investigation into the case is concluded.
